Integration with INFOR M3

Communicate with INFOR M3

The backend communicates with Infor M3 Cloud using its public REST APIs (ION APIs). To enable this, the following conditions must be met:

  • M3 must be configured to accept externally issued OAuth tokens.
  • The backend system must be able to reach the M3 API endpoints, either over the public internet or over secure network channels.

Authentication

  • OAuth 2.0 is used for secure authentication and authorization. The mobile app authenticates the user via OAuth 2.0 and retrieves an access token. This token is included in every request to the backend using the HTTP header.
  • Passing the token to the M3 Backend does not perform separate authentication against M3. Instead, it passes the same OAuth token it received from the client. This allows M3 to apply access control based on the identity and roles of the authenticated user.
  • Single Sign-On (SSO) This method enables a seamless user experience with consistent authorization across the mobile app, backend, and M3 Cloud.
